Annual award of the Society to young scientists and artists for 2024

The formal award ceremony for the Society’s annual award for young scientists and artists for the year 2024 was held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the premises of the Society of university professors and other scientists in Zagreb.

The diplomas were presented to the laureates by Professor Emeritus Ph.D. Mladen Franz, president of the committee for the Society’s annual award, and Associate Professor Ph.D. Aleksandar Maršavelski.

On behalf of the laureates, a speech of gratitude was delivered by project team member Carlo Giorgio Grlj, mag. ing. aeroing.

Inaugural lecture – PhD Ivana Martic

Member of the project team, PhD Ivana Martić gave a lecture on March 7, 2025, entitled “Experimental determination of total resistance and extrapolation of the results to full-scale ship” for the selection in scientific-teaching vocation and workplace assistant professor.

Carlo Giorgio Grlj, mag. ing. aeroing., winner of the Young scientists and artists award for 2024

The Society of university professors in Zagreb has published the decision on its website regarding the results of the annual Young scientists and artists award for 2024. Among the recipients is project team member Carlo Giorgio Grlj, mag. ing. aeroing., who was awarded for the research paper entitled Experimental and numerical assessment of the effect of speed and loading conditions on the nominal wake of a containership.

A new editorial book on applications of CFD in the field of ship hydrodynamics.

Professor PhD Nastia Degiuli and PhD Ivana Martić have published the editorial book CFD Applications in Ship and Offshore Hydrodynamics based on the successful special issue in the Journal of Marine Science and Engineering.

The book includes sixteen original scientific papers and provides a comprehensive overview of successful CFD applications in the field of naval hydrodynamics.
